Saul Robbins is interested in the ways in which people move through, relate to, and occupy their surroundings,
and the psychological dynamics of intimacy. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout
the United States and internationally, including Blue Sky Gallery, The Bolinas Museum, Hoch Schule der Kunst,
Deutsches Haus at NYU, The Museum of Fine Arts - Houston, Ost Gallery, Moscow, Portland Art Museum, PSU
White Gallery, Da Gallery, The Educational Alliance, and The Philoctetes Center. His work is in the collections
of Alliance Capital, Hunter College, The Portland Museum of Art, and numerous private collections. His work
has been published in Aufbau, CPW Photography Quarterly, More Magazine, The New York Times, Real Simple,
San Francisco Photo Metro, Shots, TAM, Wired, and others.
Curatorial projects include Projecting Freedom: Cinematic Interpretations of The Haggadah, (2009-2010);
Regarding Intimacy, at The Karl and Bertha Leubsdorf Gallery at Hunter College (March - May 2007); and No Live
Girls an installation of artist's videos at The Lusty Lady in San Francisco and Seattle (www.nolivegirls.org). In 1998
Robbins was awarded a NICA Stipendium at Berlin's Hoch Schule der Kunste, and received his MFA from Hunter
College. He teaches photography at The International Center of Photography and Pratt Institute in New York City;
and has taught Master Workshops throughout Central Europe and reviewed portfolios in Europe and the US.
Robbins is also Board Member Emeritus at The Camera Club of New York, a 127-year old photographic arts
institution devoted to nurturing the careers of talented photographers.
